Social networking is one of the most powerful features of what we call web 2.0. All web 2.0 platforms have social networking features embedded, which makes it possible to effortlessly join up, invite others, share resources and discuss issues. This can be used by teachers to link up and follow other teachers within their subject field.
There are quite a few Web 2.0 tools to create a
Personal learning network. Facebook (create a group in Facebook), Ning, Google and Yahoo groups, a wiki like this one for collaborative work.....
We do have quite a few long standing (subject) learning communities in our country. Please add to this list..
Local (South African) Learning networks:
- Please join our Saschools learning network using web 2.0 tools and add your name, twitter user name, delicious username, and any other learning network that you belong to... (Tool: Wetpaint wiki)
